Calhoun County Land Bank, Chemical Bank unveil latest home rehabilitation project
The Calhoun County Land Bank and Chemical Bank held an open house today to unveil the Land Bank’s latest home rehabilitation project at 435 W. Cornell Drive. The Land Bank acquired the property in 2015 for $6,731 and the cost to rehabilitate the home was $28,045. The 2 bed, 1 bath home is now on the market for $49,900.

Some 80 properties have been torn down within city limits between 2014 and 2016, according to data from the Calhoun County Land Bank Authority. The land bank partners with the city of Battle Creek and other municipalities to win grant funding to pay for demolitions.
