Calhoun Co. receiving nearly $4M to fight blight

CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Calhoun County is receiving nearly $4 million to fight blight.

The money comes from the Michigan Homeowner Assistance non-profit housing corporation, and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.

This is the largest local grant award to eliminate blight to date.

The money will be used to demolish houses across the county, and help area land banks purchase new properties.
