The Battle Creek Area Habitat for Humanity is a steadfast partner of the CCLBA working to create safe housing options throughout the county.  Although Battle Creek is in the name, the organization has extended its reach by purchasing Land Bank properties in neighboring communities, including the cities of Albion, Marshall, and Springfield.  Since 2014, Habitat has purchased and rehabilitated eleven properties from the Land Bank.  This partnership has contributed over $736,000 in property sales and that number will only continue to grow!

A microcosm of Habitat’s impact can be seen in close proximity in the Washington Heights Neighborhood where they are currently working only three blocks from two previous projects.  The benefit to the blocks and broader neighborhood where these transformations are happening will continue to grow.  Partnering with Habitat is a great fit for the Land Bank as the outcome is always quality safe housing for local families.
